How to be a better you every day

“Compounding is the greatest mathematical discovery of all time.” — Albert Einstein

The truth is that for most people the quest to become a better version of themselves often feels like a roller coaster ride. It’s hard. It’s uncomfortable. And it’s usually a very rocky road and it’s hard to keep a set direction. Hence it usually ends in failure. But life is a journey, not a professional marathon, so you always have another opportunity to restart and improve. You set your own goals and timings for your life and you can change them if you feel it is necessary. It’s your life and your happiness is the key factor here.

Most people are frantically looking out for secrets, tricks, and hacks that will make EVERYTHING better right now; or at most in 7 days 🙂 But unfortunately, life doesn’t work that way. There are no “overnight successes”. Think of all the incredible people you truly admire. They didn’t succeed because of one giant leap, but rather through a consistent series of small and consistent actions over time.

Stop aiming for a radical personal change!

“Be patient with yourself. Self-growth is tender; it’s holy ground. There’s no greater investment.” — Stephen Covey

A magic pill cannot save you! Neither can the next super course you have been offered on social media. You’ve got to embrace the process and learn to enjoy it. The best way to improve yourself every day is to set daily routines for developing your mind, body, and spirit. Start by setting up something as simple as a positive morning routine or ritual. Do yoga every morning, read a good nonfiction book, or meditate; or even better do all three in that order 🙂

You can’t escape the hard work it takes to get better. There is no law of attraction without the law of action. Every incredibly successful person you know today has been through the boring, mundane, time-tested process that eventually brings success. So, stop looking for “quick hacks” that bring faster results. You gotta put in the work, the tears, the sweat, and occasionally endure the pain as well. Eventually, you will get better and soon will adopt methods of working smart instead of hard. However, the truth is that hard work always proceeds the smart work.

Instead of reading every self-improvement post for the one golden tip that will make you superhumanly efficient, rather focus on doing the actual work that needs to be done. You can seek motivation to get you started, but soon you will need to feel inspired in order to keep going. Through action, you will come to feel empowered and soon you will inspire yourself to take further action. The hard, long process is the only way through. You can’t expect to achieve tremendous life success with a quick fix. Nobody gets it that easy.

So stop, take a breather and examine your current life. Is it the life you want to live? Is it the life you imagined you would live? If not you need to find out why and then take immediate action to change your life into a happy and successful life.
